The ALCS350-V2 is the second generation of acam’s high-precision load cell simulators. The system provides twice the precision of its predecessor and is ideally suited for accurate testing, qualifying and batching of weighing instruments.
Thanks to the special interconnection of its 350 Ohm resistor network the ALCS350-V2 simulates a bridge circuit without introducing their typical drift problems. In particular it can generate a very high precision analysis of converter electronics linearity.
The ALCS350-V2 is connectable to all weighing- or strain gauge-electronics, whatever AC- or DC-excitation principle is used. It simulates two separate half-bridges or one full-bridge, whereas the full-bridge can be connected in a Wheatstone or PICOSTRAIN bridge. Thus it ideally works with acam's PICOSTRAIN devices and provides a powerful plattorm in order to evaluate their unique possibilities in measuring strain gauges.
The output of the load cell simulator is adjustable from 0 to 3 mV/V in steps of 0.1 mV/V with full-bridges (or 0.2 mV/V with half-bridges) by setting appropriate switches via 3 different interfaces. 8 mechanical switches on the top of the housing form the human interface. However, the simulator is also controllable by means of a PC connected via alternative RS232 or USB interfaces. Using one of these two options, the ALCS-350 is a perfect instrument for systematic, PC-controlled testing and batch control in the laboratory as well as in fabrication.
