Adding a low-power microcontroller it will be possible to build up a scale with a total power consumption of + 100 µA.

 

A CR2032 offers 160 mAh and would allow 1,600 operating hours.

 

At estimated 5 measurements per day, lasting for 3 minutes each, the battery would run for 17.5 years!
